About Me
Hi I’m Willow!
Armed with a Double major in Graphic Design and Strategic Communication from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (Class of 2020), I've built a career focused on creating compelling visual experiences. Currently, I work as a Digital Designer at DecoPac in Minneapolis, where I help inspire bakers of every level and showcase branded cake decorating products – because nothing says celebration quite like the perfect decorative touch.
My design journey has taken me from the fast-paced world of journalism at KARE 11 to supporting marketing initiatives at Satellite, and through hands-on experience as a design intern at Hubbard School. Each role taught me to think quickly, collaborate effectively, and create compelling visual content under pressure – skills that translate beautifully to any design challenge.
I'm fluent in the entire Adobe Creative Suite, comfortable with CSS/HTML coding, and skilled at turning complex ideas into clean, effective designs. Whether it's logo design, print and digital advertising, packaging design, or creating inspiring visuals that showcase cake decorating products, I love the challenge of visual problem-solving.
When I'm not designing or crafting content that helps bakers bring their sweetest visions to life, you'll find me with headphones permanently attached – my design process runs on a soundtrack that spans from pop-punk to show tunes, with plenty of EDM mixed in for good measure. I'm a regular at local concerts (whenever my bank account gives me the green light), drawing inspiration from the energy and artistry of live performances.
In my downtime, I dive into sci-fi novels and become completely absorbed in films of all genres. My cat Xanadu keeps me company during late-night design sessions, occasionally offering her creative input by strategically placing herself on my keyboard – though she's yet to master the finer points of typography.
I believe the best design comes from staying curious and connected to different forms of creativity. Whether it's crafting the perfect product shot that showcases decorating innovations, developing a compelling brand story, or finding inspiration in a concert poster, I'm always looking for ways to create content that resonates and delights.
